We carry a comprehensive range of racquets for Tennis, Squash and Badminton, and offer a full stringing service. We have years of experience and can cater for your type of play.

The gunroom
At Matamata Sportsworld, we love to hunt and that is why we cater better for hunters. Our years of experience is great when you need help with important decisions, like what calibre rifle would be best for your sport, what ammo you should use in a particular situation. We’ve everything from slug guns to .22s to shot guns, and also high power rifles. Ask for advice to help improve your hunting endeavours. We have a large range of hunting clothing in store, from underwear to wind and water proof jackets and shooting accessories. We also repair and sight in your guns.

The Matamata Sportsworld has many special skills - one we are very proud of is our ability to catch XOS schnapper! Storeowner Chris has weighed in 15 x 29-plus pound beauties over the years, and another of our team bagged eight. So come in for advice and tips on targeting your next mega fish or fulfilling other fishing dreams. Chris's engineering background is one reason he’s a dab hand at repairing and servicing all reels we sell.

Store owner Chris has a proud record of boating a Marlin and has landed 2 Competition winning Marlin, one a stripy of 159.8 kg and one 160.1 kg. Here at Sportsworld we do lure rigging, live bait rigs, and lures, game reels & rods, harness sets, gaffs etc. We really are a one stop game shop with staff passionate about helping you achieve your goals.

For outdoors, we have you covered, from 2 person tents to family tent. We also carry a great range of backpacks sleeping bags, cookers, lamps, dried food, and a accessories.
